LEADERSHIP PLENTY
Phase 3 of the Horizons Project is about to begin. This is a series of community training sessions to “Equip Citizens to Take Civic Action.” It is intended for any person of any age who is, or would like to be, in a leadership position in the community -- from City Council, to School Board, to Church Board, to Leading Youth, to Leading Your Family, to... you get the picture!
- Emerging leaders who want to learn new skills in order to address community issues.
- Newcomers to the community who have not yet been asked to help.
- Young people who want to work with others to effect change.
- Established leaders who want to work together for common purposes.
There is no lack of leadership in our community -- there are plenty of people with untapped talents that can make our community stronger!
Four of your neighbors, Doug Anderson, Dorothy Franklin, Frank Imbrie, and Maxine Bulick are trained and certified to lead you through a well-organized curriculum. The first meeting is planned for the third week in May. Contact Doug Anderson, 395-9307, for additional details.
The curriculum is divided into Nine Modules on the following topics:
- Finding Leaders Within
- Identifying Community Assets
- Managing Groups
- Making Meetings Work
- Managing Conflict
- Building Partnerships
- Talk to Action
- Valuing Evaluation
- Communicating for Change
